Amendments to Terms and Conditions
SLATE reserves the right to remove, modify or change, without notice, any information on its website from time to time. We may change these terms at any time by posting notice of the changes on the site but, in respect of any ordered goods, the terms and conditions which apply shall be those which you accepted when you placed your order. If you use the website after we have posted the changes you will be bound by the new terms. You should therefore ensure that you read the terms each time you use the SLATE website.
Terms of Sale
When you place an order, you will receive an acknowledgement e-mail confirming receipt of your order: this email will only be an acknowledgement and will not constitute acceptance of your order. All orders are accepted subject to availability of the goods. A contract is formed between us and you when (and not before) we have sent you confirmation by writing or email to the address or email address you have given and received settlement of your credit/debit card payment.
If any ordered goods are not readily available to us, we will inform you as soon as possible, and you will be entitled to cancel the order and obtain a refund or re-credit in full for any sum that has been paid by you or debited from your credit card.
Whilst we try and ensure that all details, descriptions and prices appearing on this website are accurate, errors may occur. If we discover an error in the price of any goods which you have ordered we will inform you of this as soon as possible and give you the option of reconfirming your order at the correct price or cancelling it. If we are unable to contact you we will treat the order as cancelled. If you cancel and you have already paid for the goods, you will receive a full refund.
All prices are inclusive of VAT. Delivery costs will be charged in addition; such additional charges are clearly displayed where applicable and included in the 'Total Cost'.
All transactions are in GBP. The website has a provision for euro and dollar estimates but your credit/debit card will be debited with the GBP amount and then converted into your currency.
On receiving your order Barclaycard ePDQ will carry out the standard pre-authorisation check on your payment card to ensure there are sufficient funds to fulfil the transaction. Goods will not be dispatched until this pre-authorisation check has been completed. Your card will be debited once the order has been accepted.
Discount codes may from time to time be offered to account holders; such codes may only be applied to purchases made through the account in respect of which the discount code was offered and registered.
Promotional discount codes - we may from time to time offer promotional discount codes which may apply in respect of any, or certain specified, purchases made though this website.
The conditions of use relating to any discount code will be specified at the time of issue.
Despatch times may vary according to availability and any guarantees or representations made as to delivery times are limited to mainland UK. We will not be liable for any loss or damage suffered by you through any reasonable or unavoidable postal delays or force majeure. Please see Delivery for further information on charges.
Pictures, illustrations or descriptions or any other information submitted or contained in this website or other advertising matter are for general information and guidance. There may be minor variations between the goods as shown or described on our website and those dispatched to you without affecting their function, quality or price.

Save as prohibited by law, SLATE shall not be liable for any losses or damages, whether in contract, tort or otherwise, arising out of reliance on or use of data contained in the SLATE website or from any technical problems relating to the SLATE website. Whilst SLATE endeavours to ensure that all the information on the SLATE website is accurate at the time of its creation, it cannot accept responsibility if this is not the case. SLATE will not be responsible for any errors or omissions or for any technical problems you may experience with the SLATE website. In the unlikely event that you are not entirely satisfied with your purchase, you can simply return the items to us, within 10 days of dispatch, in their original condition. Therefore, when trying on items, please ensure that you have not been smoking or wearing perfume/deodorant/aftershave which may leave a scent or mark on the garment. Unfortunately due to hygiene reasons, we cannot accept returns on earrings. The standard returns policy applies for all other jewellery unless otherwise stated.
Please send us an email (info@slatewear.co.uk) clearly stating which item(s) you are returning and the action you would like us to take (refund/exchange). If you request an exchange please indicate which size you require or alternatively, if you are choosing a different item, please advise the item name and size required. Please note if the exchange item is cheaper in price then we will automatically refund the difference, however if the item is more expensive then we will charge your card accordingly. We do not charge postage for any item being exchanged due to our error however any item being exchanged due to bad fit will incur a re-postage fee.
We will send you a confirmation email with a returns code to be displayed clearly on the returned package. Please return the items in their original packing with labels and ensure that it has not been worn, washed, damaged or had the tags removed. Any item that fails to meet these terms may not be returned. We will be unable to refund any item where there is evidence that these instructions have not been followed.
SLATE does not offer a free collection service for returns; therefore take your parcel to the post office and request the standard delivery service with a postage certificate for items under £32 or opt for the extra compensation if the contents of your parcel exceed the value of £32 – this will ensure you are adequately covered in the unlikely event of your parcel going missing in transit. We will happily refund the cost of your postage if the item you are returning is faulty or was incorrectly sent. SLATE cannot be held responsible for any returns parcel lost in the post, therefore please keep your receipt as proof of postage.
Provided that the goods are in their original condition, we will refund your money, excluding delivery charges, within 7 days. Once a refund is processed you will receive a confirmation email to the email address your Order Confirmation was sent to. After receiving the return confirmation email, please allow a further 5 working days for your credit card issuer to process the refund and for this to reflect in your account. Your refund will be credited to the same card with which you made your original purchase.
